Village and Mahalee Lodge Project Markleeville, CA
Tom Abdoo of Markleeville USA retained us to coordinate efforts of the Development Team, provide representation in discussions with the Alpine County Planning Department, provide support documents, and ultimately to obtain approval of entitlements from Alpine County for the Markleeville Village and Mahalee Lodge planned development proposal. The original project consisted of a 40 Room (45,000 sf) Lodge/Spa Facility, Historic Mixed Use Commercial area (35,445 sf) and 70 Fractional Ownership Cabins, all set in a historic mining community.
Our work for Markleeville
USA, included the preparation and presentation of a detailed Zoning Requirement and Design Standards Document, which was ultimately adopted, with minor revisions, by Alpine County. We also provided design development services to the Architect (Brian Shinault Architects) and Designer (Benjamin Fagan Designs) for both the Mahalee Lodge and fractional ownership cabins.
Subsequent to approval of the Mitigated Negative Declaration by the Alpine County Board of Supervisors, the Developer was required to complete an Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The EIR is available to the public on the Alpine County California website.
