Bonia Residence

This was a new residence, which was entirely constructed of reclaimed materials, in Saugus, MA. The two- story home of approximately 6500 square feet is positioned above and well back from a main artery near Route 1.

The very private property includes stone terraces, fountains, in-ground pool, tennis courts and Guest House/Cabana. The homeowner, acting as his own builder and landscaper, created the entire outside environment. The private rooms of the bedrooms are secluded of the second floor. The first floor includes a central Hall with monumental stair to the second floor. Only a minimal basement was created form the mechanical systems due to extensive areas of ledge. The Hall separates the large Living Room the Kitchen and Dining Room. The Dining Room is designed to seat a very large close-knit family. The eat-in Kitchen is also large with extensive store, larger appliances and a separate pantry. A Family Room with a salvaged commercial bar, as well as Garages, Laundry and storage rooms are also located on the first floor.

Our role in this project was as the architectural firm, being responsible for the design, documents and supervision during construction. We also provided full services for land development, structure and mechanical & electrical engineering.
